The Lastingers gave me a disposable camera to use on our trip. It took a little convincing, but Mom and Dad finally relented and let me have complete control of the camera. This is my first attempt at photography and I am quite pleased with the results. Pictures 1 through 7 were taken at Cannon Beach on the Pacific Coast. Dad wanted me to see Haystack Rock where he played as a boy.

Nice beaches

This next set, pictures 8 through 17, were taken at Seaside Oregon during the first day of their week long kite festival. We were driving up the Coast Highway and saw the kites on the horizon and had to stop and look. Some of the kites were at least 30 to 40 feet long and were tied to anchors on the beach.

I took the first two of these next pictures at Sunset Hills cemetary where my great- grandparents Ady are buried. I liked the flowers and the fountains at the mausoleum. The second two were taken at St. Anthony's cemetary where my great-grandparents Hays are buried. In the first shot I was going for a pan of the cemetary grounds but I ran into Dad's leg and ended up with a shot of the road. In the second I wanted a detailed shot of the rental car, but not that detailed!

These last shots were taken at the airport before we left for home. I was fascinated by the activity surrounding the airplanes and tried to take pictures of everything but I ran out of film. Yes, that's little ol' me in the ghost reflection in the window. I have yet to master the art of flash photography. All in all, not bad for a first attempt I think. I hope I can take some more pictures soon!
